A nykščių vynas introduced a new trademark “Voruta” in 2005. This name of the legendary castle of King Mindaugas that, according to the researchers, was located near Anyksčiai, was a perfect fit for a natural fruit and berry wine series cherishing the old Lithuanian wine-making traditions. Today “Voruta” collection has more than 10 wines, 4 of them are recognised as national heritage products. Black currant wine was recognised in 2010, and semi-sweet apple wine, dessert apple wine and dessert black currant wine were recognised in 2016.
The founder of the company Balys Karazija started producing natural black currant wine in 1927. Today it is produced according to the same recipe from berries grown and carefully selected in Lithuania. Semi-sweet wine is characterised by rich colour and well-balanced taste with lingering black currant aftertaste.
